About Our Museum

Our Mission Statement

  

The purpose of this society shall be to bring together those people interested in history and especially in the history of Beverly, Delanco, Edgewater Park and the state of New Jersey. The society’s major function will be to discover and collect any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of this area. It will collect printed material such as histories, genealogies, biographies, descriptions, gazettes, directories, newspapers, etc. Society will have available historical information and arouse interest in the past by publishing historical material in the newspaper or otherwise. Riverfront Historical Society will co-operate with the state and county historical societies to collect and preserve materials of statewide significance so that these materials can be made available to students and scholars.

Making progress

We are in the middle of several projects.  We are creating this website, slowly renovating our facility, creating a digital inventory of our collection, attempting to grow our membership and to create a more memorable presence in our community

We love our patrons, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.  Our regular open house is the first Saturday of the month from Noon to 3 PM.  You can always get in touch with us to make an appointment.

This year is our 50th Anniversary.  Riverfront Historical Society was originally founded in 1976.   We are planning a series of events to celebrate our birthday and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.  Please join us!
